CANDLE SAFETY

Candles are captivating, but they are still mini fires, so caution is needed. Please follow these basic guidelines and safety precautions to ensure every moment of your candle burning experience is pure pleasure.

  • Burn within sight and do not leave unattended.
  • Keep away from children and pets
  • Keep away from items that catch fire.

Before Burning.

  1. Trim wick to 7mm (1/4 inch) each time before burning and ensure that the wicks are upright.
  2. Place the candle on a level, heat resistant surface
  3. Ensure that the wax pool is clear of matches, wick trimmings and other debris.

During Burning.

  1. Don’t move a burning candle.
  2. Do not use if the glass is cracked, chipped or broken in any way.
  3. Do not place near an open window, in a drafty area or near a fan or air duct.
  4. Do not allow flames to come in contact with the side of the glass.
  5. Do not burn the candle for less than one hour or more than 3 hours at a time.
  6. If the Candle has multiple wicks, all must be lit every time the candle is used.
  7. Stop burning when 1 cm of unmelted wax remains in the bottom of the glass.

When Extinguishing.

  1. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the candle flame if possible, to prevent wax from spattering. Otherwise, gently blow the flame out.
  2. Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame.
  3. Never, ever use water to extinguish a candle.
  4. Ensure that the candle is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended.
  5. Don’t touch the candle until it has completely cooled, wait until the wax is solid.

Candle burning times will vary dependent upon the fragrance, wax colour, and environmental conditions.
